The Humane Society of America - don't tell me you didn't cry when you saw those poor animals who got left behind on CNN
North Shore Animal League America - another organization rescuing abandoned pets
Project Backpack - giving school supplies to kids displaced by Hurricane Katrina

On behalf of its founders, thank you for mentioning project backpack on your site! I've been asked to research sites that have mentioned the cause and to spread the word of a new project underway by the PBP founders.
Project800 Project800.org has been started in hopes of helping hurricane victims via telephone. More information can be found at the project800.org website. If you're able to help with some of your time and spread the word that would be terrific.
